Let's discuss ufology here (rather than on the other website where the threads are so fleeting)

in the vast body of UFO observations, there is more than 90% of bullbutter, but there are a few undeniable cases: -the belgian wave, documented by police and the air force -the phoenix lights -the trumbull police chase -That guy who was abducted in the woods I personally believe in the ET theory, but they might not want to establish contact in our lifetime, so don't waste too much time thinking about it www.dxpnet.com/opinion/message/?id=7562927

Ideas about the hidden alien theories: -"the human zoo theory" the alien would avoid contact for the same reason biologists try not to interfere with the animal societies that they study or the same reasons that authorities try to protect isolated human tribes from modern influence -fear of technological contamination, giving humans access to space faring tech would not be a good idea -political/social immaturity of the human species -complex enslavement, aliens could be stealthily using humanity for our cognitive or industrial workpower -molecule mining. Basic elements are found in abundance in space and more easily accessible than on earth (hydrocarbons, metals, even some complex molecules like water). Most complex molecules are created inside and in the influence zone of stars, more complex molecules require complex environments and the most complex of all molecules are created by biological activity. a planet like earth mass produces the most complex of molecules at a scale not accessible anywhere else in space.

There are two big separators when it comes to the possibility of meeting of two theorical intelligent civilizations, the first one is space. Despite the intelligence level of humanity traveling to other stars remains an unsolvable problem to this day and the foreseeable future. Most intelligent civilizations will probably never reach the solution to this interstellar travel problem.
Even if we consider the UFO hypothesis that the problem of interstellar travel has been solved, there is another great separator, which is time. If we suppose that a civilization can last for a million years (which is huge and probably more than in the facts), since the universe is theorized to be around 13 billion years , there is still a lot of chances than most civilizations will miss each other temporally.
That said, and since this is a UFO thread, let's just consider the possibility that we are being visited. There is a corpus of observations of technological objects some of which don't seem to be inside human tech level.
